Velcrypt is a native iPhone app that keeps private photos, videos and documents in encrypted vaults on the device. Instead of Face ID or a PIN, you open a vault by drawing a pattern on a 5×5 grid of dots — a secret that lives only in your memory. Every pattern is its own vault, and a pattern the app has never seen opens an empty one, so nothing reveals how many vaults exist. Files are encrypted with AES-256-GCM through Apple CryptoKit. There is no account, no server and no tracking of vault content. Velcrypt has a free version and an optional Premium upgrade.

- The duress pattern and encrypted backup are planned, not available.
- Velcrypt can’t recover forgotten patterns; that’s a deliberate consequence of having no account or server.
- There is no press coverage to cite yet, and we don’t publish user numbers or ratings.
